RiverHawks open homestand

August 14, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks open their last long homestand of the season with an overflow promotional slate that includes the annual diamond dig and baseball card giveaway, the annual doctors-lawyers game and rescheduled visits from the Zooperstars and your own dog.

The RiverHawks open a six-game homestand at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday. The starting times are 7:05 p.m. each night until Sunday, which is a 6:05 p.m. start.

Tuesday is the Clodius/Eagle Diamond Dig. Following the game, ladies will be invited onto the field to dig for a diamond buried beneath the infield. In addition, it’s Curves/Ronnie Gators/Barefoot Wines Ladies Night.

Wednesday is Bryden Motors/WREX Travel Mug Night. The first 1,000 get a RiverHawks travel mug. In addition, a rained-out Saturn of Rockford Youth Clinic has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday. Kids 12 and under are invited for a free, fun clinic.

Thursday is the final Miller Lite/104.9 – the X Dollar Beer Night. In addition, the RiverHawks will suit up one more time in the camo uniforms for Army/Marines Military Appreciation Night.

Friday is the last installment of the Fat Wallet.com/WIFR Friday Night Fireworks Series. In addition, the first 250 will receive RiverHawks 2006 logo lapel pins, courtesy of Mincemoyer Jewelry and BOB-FM. In addition, on Rasmussen College Night, representatives from the school will be available to discuss higher education with potential students.

RiverHawks Baseball Card Night is Saturday. Lonnie’s Carpet Max and WZOK sponsor free RiverHawks team sets, for the first 1,000. The world-famous Zooperstars have rescheduled their appearance for this night. The antics of the “manimal” sports mascots will keep the family in stitches. In addition, barristers and medics face off at 5 p.m. in the annual Doctors-Lawyers Game, sponsored by Tuite & Assoc.

The homestand concludes on Sunday, with a rescheduled Dog Days of Summer, sponsored by Petco and Forest City Dog Training. Fans are invited to bring their dog to the park. Water, treats and pooper scoopers are provided. A dog-training demonstration will be held on the field prior to the game.
