April 19, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – “New” is the operative word for the Rockford RiverHawks.
Along with a new stadium, the team will begin the new season with a new logo. The RiverHawks today officially introduced their new logo, an eye-catching, dynamic look that features mascot Rocko the RiverHawk. The logo continues to make use of the team’s main colors, Columbia blue, navy blue and metallic gray.
“We like to call it ‘friendly and fierce,’” RiverHawks president Dennis Arouca said. “It displays a scrappy, hard-working, determined attitude, which reflects the people of the Rockford community. The same goes for our players, who have been handed nothing and have earned everything in their careers.”
The regular season begins on the road May 24, when the RiverHawks open with a six-game road trip to Windy City and River City. Opening Day at RiverHawks Stadium is 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, when the ‘Hawks host the Evansville Otters.
