About the RiverHawks
The RiverHawks, the Stateline's professional baseball team, play at a new 3,300-seat stadium located near the expanded I-90/Riverside Blvd. interchange.
- Attendance averaged approximately 2,800 a game in 2009. The team totaled 120,000 for the year and a quarter of the home schedule were sellouts.
- The RiverHawks have drawn more than 100,000 fans in each of the last six seasons. Average attendance has increased approximately 40 percent over that span.
- Our fan base is families with children 18 and under, homeowners, people with annual household incomes averaging more than $75,000, according to our fan surveys. These are people with discretionary spending power who are making a decision to entertain their families and get the best value for the dollar.
- The RiverHawks drew more than 5,500 for 2009 Frontier League All-Star Game festivities.
- The RiverHawks are new members of the Northern League, the dean of independent professional baseball leagues. Other league members include: Gary, Joliet, Schaumburg and Lake County, all in suburban Chicago; Fargo-Moorhead, Kansas City and Winnipeg.
- In addition to our home schedule, we hosted more than 200 games, events, etc. in 2009:
o Rockford College’s entire home schedule
o Northern Illinois vs. UW-Milwaukee baseball
o NCAA postseason baseball
o Area high-school teams
o Numerous American Legion, travel ball, etc. tournaments
o Taste of Rockford
- More than 200,000 came to Road Ranger Stadium in 2009.
- More than a quarter million live in the core cities of Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Cherry Valley and Belvidere. More than 2 million live within an hour’s drive, including the following communities.
o Less than 30 minutes: Beloit, Janesville, Clinton, Delavan
o Less than 60 minutes: Elgin, DeKalb, Sycamore, Freeport, Crystal Lake.
Who comes to RiverHawks games?
- Road Ranger Stadium is an affordable, family-friendly environment. All ages have enjoyed the RiverHawks' brand of fun.
- Among the celebrities seen at RiverHawks games are racing star Danica Patrick, Hall of Famer Ferguson Jenkins, former major-leaguer Tim Raines and local radio personalities Stone and Double-T.
NorthernLeague
The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, one of the most successful leagues in all independent minor-league baseball. Teams are located in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, North Dakota and Manitoba.
